Viral Agents is the story of a young scientist named Rosie. She designs operaviruses, synthetic viruses constructed with advanced molecular biology and computational techniques. Operaviruses can do almost anything: they treat diseases, enhance strength and intelligence, and even improve crop yields. But like everyone else, Rosie is only allowed to work on problems approved of by the governmental committee on viral agents. Until she decides that there is more freedom and potential selling her scientific talents on the black market – if she can avoid the authorities. But she’ll have to contend with more than bureaucrats and police investigators when one of her designer viruses catches the eye of WetWare Incorporated, the leading manufacturer of operaviruses. And they don’t take kindly to her improving on their designs . . .
